Probiotic drinks | Overview | Benefits | Home-made probiotic drink recipe

Since a few years ‘Probiotics’ has become one of the trendiest words in the field of wellness around the world.

Probiotics or live beneficial bacteria help maintain the natural balance of micro flora in our gut. Probiotics are found in yogurt and other fermented dairy products.

Probiotic drink is an excellent addition to your diet and can help treat and potentially prevent GI issues, such as diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome.

Our digestive system is home to numerous bacteria, among which some are beneficial and some are harmful for us. Beneficial bacteria can help improve digestion and build immunity. Harmful bacteria attack the beneficial ones and produce harmful substances that pose harmful effects on our health. The probiotics play the function of increasing number of beneficial bacteria in our gut while protecting them from harmful ones.

I myself prepared a probiotic drink as a part of one of my college projects last year. Please continue reading if you want to know what recipe I prepared.
Let me start by giving a brief intro to my recipe:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE RECIPE I PREPARED:

Probiotics promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria and have been linked to a wide range of health benefits.
The name of my recipe is 'Fruity whey' 🍹

Here I’ve tried to prepare a pro-biotic drink using whey protein. Whey is full of vitamins, minerals and beneficial bacteria. It is an excellent source of high quality protein.

For the flavouring purpose I’ve used both orange pulp and its peels in the powdered form which further increases the novelty value of the recipe. In order to balance the flavour I’ve also added honey which also adds to the nutritional benefits provided by this recipe.

No artificial sugar has been added and the recipe is less in calories. Use of waste products makes this recipe unique in itself. Hence this whey drink is definitely a nutritive add-on to your diet.
