My Immunity Booster


As everyone around is talking about immunity and immunity boosters, I thought it would be best to share with you all the recipe of this very simple Ginger Tea which is actually my immunity booster drink!

My mother has been making this Tea for years now and I have it almost every morning and ofcourse I just love it. Also this tea is very much like the Ayurvedic 'kaadha' which is undoubtedly a household name in India. 

Now before we get into the method of making this tea, let me tell you the amazing benefits of some of the ingredients used.

GINGER: A bio active compound called Gingerol present in Ginger imparts major medicinal properties to it. Ginger helps reduce the risks of cancer, Diabetes  and various other helath related problems. It also helps in improving digestion and recovering from cold and flu.

CLOVES: Eugenol oil present in cloves has antiseptic properties. The anti-inflammatory compounds help recover from cold and cough. It may also help regulate blood sugar levels.

BLACK PEPPER: This too is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps maintain blood sugar levels and gut health.

TULSI: Tulsi being ayurvefuc extremely beneficial for humans. It helps lower blood pressure and reduce stress. It also helps fight respiratory problems.

INDIAN BAY LEAF: It helps regulate metabolism and reduce sugar levels in the body. It is also very effective in treating cardiovascular diseases.

INGREDIENTS:
SERVING: 1 CUP 
1. Black pepper = 2
2. Cloves(Laung) = 2
3. Ginger = 1 small piece
4. Cardamom(Elaichi) = 1
5. Sugar = a pinch
6. Salt = a pinch
7. Indian bay leaf(Tez patta) = Half 
8. Basil(Tulsi) leaf = 1 leaf
9. Tea leaves= less than half a spoon
10.Water = 1 and a half cup


1.  Heat some water in a saucepan on a medium flame. 
2. Crush the black pepper, cloves, cardamom, ginger(peeled off) and bay leaf, all together and then put it in the saucepan.
3. Then add a pinch of salt and pinch of sugar into the water being heated.
4. Now put one Basil(tulsi) leaf followed with tea leaves into the water.
5. Now quickly turn off the gas and sieve off the tea in a cup.
6. Garnish with a tulsi leaf to give that refreshing look.
7. Your tea is ready, enjoy.
